The Freedom from Torture organization has been providing care for tortured victims for over 25 years. In 2011, Thandie Newton visited the organization while researching her role in “Death and the Maiden” as Paulina Salas, a former political prisoner who was raped and tortured. During this time, Thandie spoke to tortured survivors and witnessed the success of the organization’s work. She is showing her support this year by presenting the organization’s appeal on March 31st (7.55am and 9.26pm) and April 4th (3.27pm) on BBC Radio4. Be sure to tune in and show your support!
Here is a sound clip of Thandie talking about why she supports Freedom from Torture
